1999 Dutycalc Drawback Conference was a Great Success!

Attendees spent two days listening and learning about the drawback regulations presented by six of the

Drawback community's most knowledgeable individuals. In addition to the presentations given by our expert panel, Dutycalc provided each attendee with a detailed Conference Handbook outlining each panelist topic and sets of select drawback information.

The following subjects were addressed:

  • Mr. Tom Valenzula, U.S. Customs Liquidation Branch:
    Tom spoke about the new regulations, the new application procedures, and Customs requirements
  • Mr. Bob Van Vleet, Dutycalc Data Systems:
    Bob discussed how to start a drawback program, the requirements, and information needed to start a drawback program.

  • Mr. Ron Jacobsen, Northstar Drawback Consultants:
    Ron went over the core requirements of Drawback Compliance and how it will effect the way we all do drawback.

  • Mr. George R. Tuttle, ESQ. Attorney at Law:
    George discussed the legal issues pursuant to the new regulations as well as the penalties and how they will affect drawback filers.

  • Nancy Thompson, U.S. Customs Regulatory Audit:
    Nancy presented us with information needed to avoid common mistakes filers make and what to expect when the auditors come knocking.

  • Mr. Bill Indreboe, Dutycalc Data Systems:
    Bill summed up the Conference by continuing the discussion on how to maintain your drawback compliance status.

Additionally, attendees received a Penalties and Procedures Handbook from Panelist George R. Tuttle III, Esq. which outlines legal issues we all need to be concerned about as well as the Dutycalc Compliance packet which includes various check lists and schedules every file should be using. We also included the U.S. Customs Drawback Regulations and Audit Program for additional reference purposes. Dutycalc has chosen to make these materials available to the drawback community for a fee of $125.00 for a set of all Conference documentation.
