One of my accounts didn't et everything together by 4/6/99, so their privileges expired. Got everything back together, filed a new application (two - one for accelerated and one for waiver)in the early part of May and had both approved this past week. I really didn't expect them to move this rapidly.
Another item that Northstar is more familiar with - the approval for waiver covered the period 4/6/99 up till the date of the approval. I asked for 1/1/97 up to the date of approval. As I now understand it, Customs cannot revoke the waiver retroactively. It expired on 4/6/99, but any exports made prior to the time were covered under the previously existing waiver. We have just gone back and filed several claims for articles exported prior to 4/6/99, but for which we did not get the claim filed prior to 4/6/99.
I know Northstar pushed this issue with Chicago and Headquarters, but this interpretation has not been published - at least as far as I know...
